Description: The COHSMO project investigated the links between socio-economic inequality, urbanization, and territorial cohesion, and how cohesion at different European scales influences economic growth, spatial justice, and democratic capacities. It adopted a comparative, multi-method approach across seven European countries, combining local case studies, statistical analysis, and policy review. The project advanced a place-sensitive typology to guide spatial policy and developed actionable recommendations for improving the European Social Model by strengthening cohesion and reducing spatial injustice.
