Course Description
Objectives
The synthesis of the individual skills of the students (e.g, historical, economic, physiogeographic, mapping, etc) is done at different scales. It is one of the comparative advantages of geography degree and implemented in all relevant sections in Europe. The synthesis of the knowledge of the individual lessons will be in office and field exercises.
Content
This course/ project enables students to implement synthetic knowledge from other courses through a practice in a particular area of study which studied both the natural environment and processes and human activities and interventions. Moreover, they use techniques of Geoinformatics (GIS, Remote Sensing, GPS) for the creation of the spatial database of the study area.
Teaching & Assessment
Teaching is implemented by lectures, consulting sessions, laboratory exercises and field work. The evaluation involves presentation of the projects for each working team and written examination at the end of the semester.
The course assessment is based on three progress presentations of the project during the semester (30%), and on the final presentation and submission of the project on the exam day (70%).
